Power Trip played their first reunion show since the death of former vocalist Riley Gale at the Mohawk in Austin, TX on December 1. The show featured openers Dresscode and Ninth Circle, and saw Power Trip fronted by Fugitive vocalist Seth Gilmore.
Footage of the show was nothing short of insane, and now the band has posted a handful of professionally-shot photos from the night all taken by photographer Samantha Tellez. Check 'em out below alongside some more footage of the show.
Of course the real question here is now Power Trip will proceed. The Gale family has expressed their dissatisfaction with the reunion show, which Power Trip has not publicly addressed just yet. And who knows if they will – there seems to be some legal goings-on between Power Trip and Gale's parents, Brandon and Gina, in 2021.
A lawsuit filed against Power Trip in the District Court Of Dallas County shows that the Gale family sued Power Trip's LLC and its members for unpaid monies, which the band denied. Power Trip alleged in that same lawsuit that Gale's family intended to "harass, impede and impair defendants in proceeding with their careers" with legal actions. The lawsuit appears to still be ongoing.
Musically, Power Trip sounded as savage as they ever have. No word on if they're planning to continue with Gilmore on the microphone in a more permanent capacity, but the guy is very clearly cut out for the job. Look no further than the below footage.
