POWER TRIP Guitarist On New Music: "There's A Bunch Of Stuff Out There"

"There's… I guess you can call it a record."

Blake Ibanez

Power Trip guitarist Blaze Ibanez confirmed in an interview with Daniel Dekay of Knotfest that new music is still very much in the works. When asked about the status of the band post-Riley Gale, Ibanez confirmed that he and drummer Chris Ulsh have "been working on stuff for quite a while and we are continuing to work on it." When pressed for more information, Ibanez offered that they're "just working on stuff and and at some point the stuff we're working on will be heard" before adding "There's… I guess you can call it a record. There's a bunch of stuff out there. That's really all I can say. I don't know. I can't really say too much."

"We've been working really hard on it. Me and [Chris], we have great chemistry and the same thing we've always done when we make records together. The same vibe is there. I'm really proud of the stuff we've written together. So I'm looking forward to that. I don't know when everything's gonna happen, but I'm looking forward to it."

Ibanez's "I guess you can call it a record" comment is particularly interesting in that he follows it up with that there's "bunch of stuff out there." So maybe it's a bunch of individual songs that'll eventually get compiled together? Who knows. The biggest question here of course is who will ultimately sing on new Power Trip, and if it'll even be one single vocalist or a bunch of vocalists on different songs. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Ibanez previously spoke a little about Power Trip in an interview with Banger TV, saying the plan was for the band "to continue." All Ibanez said at the time was that there were "a lot of songs in the tank" and that anyone who enjoyed Nightmare Logic will enjoy the new stuff.
