Kiss guitarist Paul Stanley has revealed who he thinks are the best lead singers of all time. Stanley's picks are all pretty much classic rock, but there's also a reason they've made it into the pantheon of classic rock – they're really damn good! Shout out to MetalSucks for making Stanley's picks into a clean list, too.

  1. Ann Wilson (Heart)
  2. Brian Johnson (AC/DC) & Lou Gramm (Foreigner)
  3. Brad Delp (Boston)
  4. Steve Perry (Journey)
  5. Janis Joplin
  6. Paul Rodgers (Bad Company, Free)
  7. Rod Stewart
  8. David Ruffin (The Temptations)
  9. Freddie Mercury (Queen)
  10. Steve Marriott (Small Faces, Humble Pie)
  11. Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin)

And if you're looking for an even deeper dive into Stanley's favorite vocalists, he's also published a (seemingly) unordered list of his favorite singers of all time. And honestly, these types of lists are always a good time because they usually either jog your memory to go listen to an artist, or help people discover something new!

  • Otis Redding
  • Sam Cooke
  • Aretha Franklin
  • Sarah Vaughn
  • Franco Corelli
  • Tony Bennett
  • Marvin Gaye
  • Ella Fitzgerald
  • Joni Mitchell
  • Gladys Knight
  • Jackie Wilson
  • Luther Vandross
  • Linda Ronstadt
  • Luciano Pavarotti
