After the terrorist attacks in Paris this past Friday during an Eagles of Death Metal show that left over 100 people dead and many lingering questions.
Perhaps not the most important question, but one question was would the venue where the attacks happen, Le Bataclan, remain open? In a new report by Billboard, the venue co-manager Dominique Revert, who was not at the venue at the time of the attacks vowed that the venue will certainly re-open:
“It will reopen, no question about it,” he says. “Hearts will be heavy for a few months, a few years. But we will reopen. We will not surrender.”
The story notes that the venue was opened in 1864, but there is no date for re-launch. I imagine the first show back would be very difficult to attend and in general there would be a dark cloud over the venue. Whether the decision to re-open is right or not is not up to me to determine, but I admire the venue owners for their tenacity.
