Overkill has been going strong since 1980 and has been pretty consistent in terms of releasing great new records. So it only makes sense to get excited that there's a new one coming out in 2016, right?
In an interview with MetalEater, frontman Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth says there are currently 11 songs demoed and ready to go, with a few more still in the works. So maybe we'll get some bonus tracks, or maybe we'll get an additional EP to go along with the album?
"We're fully demoed at this point. We're talking eleven songs right now that I'm holding. It should be a few more after this. We're usually ten flat when we release a record. There may be a bonus track or two. But they're fully demoed. We're scheduling drums for right after a European tour that's coming up. We leave the end of March and come back towards the end of April."
This'll be Overkill's 18th record… holy crap. Plus it seems like the group is only getting better with age, so who knows what this record'll hold!
