Bassist Terry Butler (Obituary, ex-Death) has teamed up with The Absence (and both ex-Massacre members) guitarist Taylor Nordberg and drummer Jeramie Kling for a new band called Inhuman Condition. The trio is currently recording their debut at Kling and Nordberg's own Smoke & Mirrors Productions, and you can hear a demo teaser of the material below. It's very unsurprisingly heavy as all hell.
Nordberg said the material used for Inhuman Condition was stuff they wrote for Massacre, which never got used due to their departure.
"Jeramie and I can't wait to finally release these songs! Him and I wrote the album back in September of 2019, and after we left Massacre last fall, we wanted to keep the songs alive but under a different flag," said Nordberg. "Enter Terry Butler on bass. Enter Jeramie Kling's vocals. Inhuman Condition was born! We are finishing up the vocals now, but we made a quick teaser/demo for you to hear a sneak peek."
"I am very excited and honored to be a part of Inhuman Condition!" added Butler. "Taylor and Jeramie wrote some blistering heavy-as-hell songs full of hooks. It's a perfect mix of brutal death/thrash metal. Can't wait for people to hear this!"
It's worth noting that Butler also played in Massacre on and off between 1986 and 2014, while Nordberg and Kling were in between 2019 and 2020.
