Obituary bass player Terry Butler's 27-year-old daughter Jona Wright has died. She passed away from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash this past Tuesday, May 7 in Hillsborough County, Florida. Her two sons, ages six and ten, were also in the car but thankfully escaped with only minor injuries.
Butler immediately left the band's tour with Hatebreed for an understandable leave of absence. It is unclear when he will return to the band, if at all. A friend of Wright's set up a GoFundMe campaign to help the family pay for the costs of raising two children:
“The boys are staying with their grandparents. Thankfully, they have been very present in their lives so the boys are comfortable with them. However, this is a large unexpected expense on their part. We are hoping to collect donations for the grandparents to use for the boys’ living expenses and other needs. The grandparents will use the donations as they deem fit for their necessities.”
