Things are happening in the Metalocalypse world. Months after the completion of what many would say was a successful campaign to get the show back on the air for one season, creator Brendon Small posted a cryptic photo over the weekend, heavily hinting that he is working on new material for the animated death metal band.
And then today, we happened to notice Adult Swim has launched a petition to…make Adult Swim sign the petition… to bring back Metaloclypse. Yes, the petition is to get them to sign the petition.
Even better, the only way to sign this petition is to fill out this form, which requires you to write an essay of at least 125 words as to why the show should come back, print it and then fax it to them.
The site also features a live video feed of the official fax machine, with all entries going directly into a recycling bin. Savage.
Adult Swim makes it clear that "Adult Swim's endorsement of said petition – in no way whatsoever – will bring back Metalocalypse" BUT WHY WOULD THEY TEASE US LIKE THIS?
All of this news is doing one thing – it's certainly teasing. And something tells me they are teasing for a reason.
