Mutoid Man set their debut album Helium Head to be released on November 29 through Magic Bullet/Nonbeliever Records. Mutoid Man is surprisingly a duo, consisting of Cave In vocalist and guitarist Steve Brodsky and Converge drummer Ben Koller, which makes me even more curious. Will it be Brodsky-type acoustic stuff with Koller on drums? Will Brodsky just play bass as well and end up handling everything that isn't drums? I'd like to see some of the Brodsky acoustic stuff get thrown in there for good measure among the potential heaviness the project might bring. Not to leave Koller out of the mix in terms of potential as well, given how good he is on the skins. Seeing as it's the start of August and the record is out in almost three months, I'd expect we'll be hearing a single soon enough. Here's to hoping!
