MIKE SEMESKY Joins RAUNCHY

Minus that guy in the middle… just pretend he's Semesky.

In a statement that pretty much shocked the crap out of me, "harsh" vocalist Kasper Thomsen has left Raunchy and will be replaced by big-name vocalist Mike Semesky. The clean vocals in the band are currently handled by keyboardist Jeppe Christensen. Raunchy has not made it clear if Semesky will be doing both styles or just harsh. The band had to say about the addition-

After hearing his vocals on some early demos for the forthcoming Raunchy album, we are beyond satisfied and very excited to start a new chapter with Mike. We are still writing and demoing ideas for the next album and we expect to enter the studio later this year.

Hey, new Raunchy soon-ish! I'm not a huge fan of the older stuff, but 2010's A Discord Electric was pretty damn sweet. Anyway, Kasper says he didn't leave the band on band terms and they're all good friends; the band says the same. Kasper's statement upon his departure was-

Dear friends, It is with a saddened heart I write these words to you. From this day I will no longer be a part of the band. It is solely my own decision, and there are absolutely no hard feelings between me and my brothers in the band.

Playing with my brothers for almost nine years has been nothing but extraordinary; we have released excellent albums, we have toured most of the world, we’ve played the biggest festivals and I’ve been privileged enough to be a part of it all. Wow, what a rush it has been! But every good thing must come to an end, and I feel it is time for me to step down and rest with all my good memories.

I don’t know what the future will bring, but I’m certain it holds new possibilities and new adventures for me and my family. I want to thank my brothers in the band for this amazing journey and for always believing in me – and I want to thank all of our fans for their endless support.

Even though I’m no longer a part of this endeavor the band will continue to write a crushing new record for you to enjoy in a not so distant future. Please welcome the new man onboard as warmly as you welcomed me – and please continue to support the band with all of your heart – that’s all I wish for.

All the best, Kasper

Well hey, good luck to both parties!
