Yes, folks that's right. "Metal" is not only that thing that mothers fear and television service announcements warn children about… it's an actual medical condition. A 42 year old Swede named Roger Tullgren has been diagnosed with a "heavy metal addiction" and is receiving welfare benefits from the Swedish government because of it.
Tullgren is a self proclaimed Heavy Metal addict; he sports the traditional long hair, plethora of tattoos and blackened clothing and accessories that stereotype metal-heads everywhere. He claims to attend roughly 300 shows a year, sometimes missing work for these performances.
When these constant absences caused his previous employer to fire him, Tullgren was forced to apply with the local Swedish Unemployment agency. After undergoing a psychological profile by an Employment Agency appointed physician, Tullgren was diagnosed with a heavy metal disability. His new employer even allows him to blast "loud music" because of Tullgren's condition.
When you take into consideration the bands that come out of Sweden like DARK TRANQUILITY and AT THE GATES with this news, Sweden officially becomes one of the most metal countries in the world. I imagine DETHKLOK and Mordland will soon be relocating to Stockholm to keep up with the times.
