MARILYN MANSON Halfway Done With New Album, Explains Shooter Jennings Collaboration

"Shooter, he kind of reminds me of The Dude from The Big Lebowski."

Marilyn Manson recently revealed he's working on a new album with singer-songwriter Shooter Jennings, which naturally raised some eyebrows.

In an interview with SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation LA Invasion: Live From The Rainbow Bar & Grill," Manson says he's a little more than halfway done with the new record, and addresses the Jennings collaboration. Basically he's doing it for the reason anyone collaborates with anyone else – they make a good team.

"I felt like it was a good time for a change. And I became friends with Shooter. And he's a musical genius. Shooter, he kind of reminds me of The Dude from The Big Lebowski… But we have this different vibe where I don't have to really tell him what I'm thinking. I didn't know this, but he was a fan of what I did growing up, also underneath his father, Waylon Jennings. So he adds a completely different element."

Manson's new record is potentially due out later this year. No word on who's playing on it either, considering guitarist Tyler Bates left the band in 2018 and drummer Gil Sharone left the band this year. You can catch Marilyn Manson on the road with Rob Zombie this July and August.
