KORN Guitarist HEAD: "The Metal Community Is So Inclusive And United"

"It completes our soul."

Korn guitarists Head and Munky recently gave an interview with Riff X's Metal XS, where they spoke about the metal community and the genre's enduring popularity.

"Definitely it's gotten bigger," Munky said. "I think people have kind of embraced it. And I think [the stigma], the taboo of metal bands has kind of gone away for the most part. I think people that aren't into that music, they associate the skulls and the fire [with heavy metal], and it's not that. We resonate with this type of music. It makes us feel sort of like a complete person when you have this aggressive music, or whatever you wanna call it. It makes us feel like, I don't know… It completes our soul, I guess."

Head concurred, saying that  "It is a community… There's religion and there's politics out there, and there's so much division. And the metal community is so inclusive and united. [Korn] just played the other night with Judas Priest and Kiss, and [the fans] loved every single band… 'cause they have respect for the metal community and the different styles and whatnot. And that's not always the case, but the majority [of the time] it is the case. I love that about our community."

You can watch the complete interview with Head and Munky below. Korn, meanwhile, will hit the road in a few weeks on a co-headlining tour with Evanescence.

"We're looking forward to going on tour this summer and bringing our friends Evanescence, out," said Korn singer Jonathan Davis at the time of the announcement. "Whenever Amy [Lee, Evanescence vocalist] comes to one of our shows, I always love seeing her on the side of the stage watching the whole set and rocking out. We're gonna have a great time on this tour, and we can't wait to see you there."
