KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's Adam D. Is Not A Fan of Anniversary Tours

They are looking to the future.

They are looking to the future.

Killswitch Engage are putting the final touches on their next album, and they are pretty excited about it. The band recently revealed they'd have the record out sometime this fall, as well as announced a bunch of tour dates with Clutch.

This year also happens to be the 15th anniversary of a pretty big album for the band, The End of Heartache. But don't expect the band to do any anniversary tours. They're looking to the future.

Adam D. was recently interviewed by Kerrang! and noted the band has no interest in playing the album in full:

“We’re in the middle of trying to set up the new record. It’s funny, our bassist, Mike [D’Antonio], was like ‘Hey, should we be thinking about doing a 15th anniversary tour for this record?’ and I was like ‘No! We should be thinking about this new record!’”

“We shouldn’t live in the past, y’know? I feel like there’s been too much of that recently. Maybe more people should focus on writing more material, and not just trying to rehash stuff, y’know? There’s just too much of that!

“I’m happy that everyone agreed with me that it wasn’t a good idea, especially because we literally just finished our new record. So we have things to worry about.”

I absolutely respect a band that choses to go this route. Plus, it's a decision made somewhat easier for the band because the vocalist they recorded with isn't with them anymore (although former vocalist Howard Jones does appear on a track on the new album).

Would you want to see Killswitch play The End of Heartache in full? Or would you rather a mix of old and new songs?
