Kevin Hufnagel is in a bunch of awesome metal bands, such as Gorguts, Dysrhythmia, Vaura, and Sabbath Assembly, so naturally his solo work sounds absolutely nothing like those bands at all. Hufnagel just released his new record called Backwards Through the Maze and it's pretty out there. It's a lot of odd guitar manipulations and ambiance, so don't go into this thinking it gets heavy at any point – it doesn't, and it's wonderful.
Stream the whole EP below alongside his Polar Nights EP from 2011. This setup is due to the cassette version of Backwards Through the Maze being Side A of the cassette, and then Polar Nights being Side B. There are a limited copies of the cassette available on the Nostalgium Directive website.
