Katatonia had mentioned they wanted to do a remix record of Dead End Kings a few months back, and now it's coming to fruition. It's also way less lame than you're thinking it is right now because I used the word "remix."
So last Friday, June 14, the band launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund their upcoming release Dethroned and Uncrowned. The album is basically a stripping down of the Dead End Kings record to the ambient and orchestral pieces with vocals, which is going to be awesome in case you weren't aware. It's also 110% funded with 82 days left to go. Not just 82 days until the campaign ends, but also when the album comes out! That puts the release date at sometime in September. I tried figuring the exact date out but I keep losing count, which is exactly why I didn't major in math in college. Regardless of my personal pitfalls, get excited! The record is going to be cool as crap. Get in on those sweet perks too!
