Apparently Ghost B.C. think the addition of "B.C." is dumb and refuse to even acknowledge it. They also said they'd summon Satan to kill the band who sued them (not really).
At some point in 2012, Ghost were forced to change their name to Ghost B.C. for legal reasons regarding another band called Ghost (fun fact- if you Google it, there are at least 17+ bands called Ghost, so why this one in particular was an issue is beyond me). The band happen to think this is as dumb as the fans think it is, and have said in an interview with Italy's Soundblog–
I want to make it clear that in the world we will continue to be simply 'Ghost, the band Scandinavian', and we never will refer to ourselves as 'Ghost B.C.'. It will never happen, never, never, never, never happen. It's like saying 'I'm going to buy a Ferrari GT': the important thing is that it's a Ferrari, not a model! Our B.C. is pronounced in silence, and soon we will be able to remove it completely from the name.
Yeah, sorry about the crappy grammar there; Google translate does that. The bottom line is that the band hate it enough to have future action planned about it, as they should. Here's a list of 16 bands that are currently called Ghost, according to Last.fm. Just as a fun side note here, look at how popular those other bands called Ghost are! Good thing one of them threatened t0 sue, they're all so popular that another band called Ghost would really have screwed up their careers. No… wait. I realize that's not the point, but being a dick is fun and there's a little truth to it as well.
In all seriousness, the legal change of the name did nothing. People still call them Ghost, the band still refer to themselves as Ghost, people still tag the albums as Ghost, and all their current merchandise is without the "B.C." Mission accomplished?
P.S. Look at the featured image up top, mainly that guy being handed a mask. He's got a little bit of a lump on his thumb and a mustache… so, going off that plethora of information, let's identify him!
