A389 Records has been pretty quiet in the past few years, but it seems like what was once one of the undergrounds most highly touted labels is showing signs of life. Junior Bruce are the latest example of this with their new record Endless Descent providing the sort of death and roll madness that could wake up any sleeping giant. The way that they blast forward with burning conviction on Endless Descent is stunning, a sign of the bands rapid growth in recent years. Junior Bruce's understanding of songwriting has come forward in leaps and bounds since 2014's The Nomad, to say nothing of their last full length, The Headless King which came out all the way back in 2012. I guess that's what happens when you stay as busy as Junior Bruce, Endless Descent marks the bands fifth release in as many years – these guys are clearly not fucking around. So now we sit here with the future in their hands.
This is what the bands frontman, Scott Anderson said that the albums concept was based on:
One persons struggle to rescue their one love from the depths of the abyss. In their attempts to open a gateway to the underworld they unwittingly set free upon the earth legions of demons and beasts that ultimately consumes not only their soul, but all of humanity.
So I guess it's pretty brutal or something.
Jam it now!
