Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler, 54, is recovering at an LA hospital after being rushed there last night, following an incident where he allegedly stabbed himself.
TMZ reports that 911 was called shortly after 6:30pm to report somebody had stabbed themselves. Paramedics arrived to see Adler suffering from a stab wound to his stomach. No one else is suspected to be involved in the incident.
Officer Jeff Lee tells People: “Upon arrival, LAPD officers determined that there was no crime and the incident was being treated as a medical emergency only. The subject was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.”
Adler has openly struggled with drug addiction for decades. He was kicked out of GNR in 1990 after allegedly being too drugged up to record his parts, which if you know anything about Guns N Roses, is really saying something. Adler was eventually inducted with the band into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
We wish Adler a speedy recovery.
Update: Hours after this story was posted, Blabbermouth reports that a representative for Adler has denied that he tried to kill himself, and said it was merely an accident.
