Corrosion, or that band featuring former Trivium drummer Nick Augusto, will be dropping its debut EP at some point pretty soon. We've heard one song already and we weren't terribly impressed, so here's a second change at enjoyment titled "Prone To Dreams."
I want to like this because the music is solid and the distorted vocals are powerful and in your face. That being said, the clean vocals are still killing this group for me. They just sit weird in the mix and don't come across confident or loud. They're just sort of there for the sake of being there because the song needed some clean vocals and that's really it. Plus, that first verse doesn't even feel like it really has a melody. Maybe I'm being too critical about this?
Here's hoping that situation gets rectified between the EP and whatever Corrosion does next, because again- everything but the clean vocals are solid.
