Kiss was accused of lip synching their live show during a June 6 performance in Antwerp, Belgium. Long story short, guitarist Paul Stanley's vocal track seemed to play without him actually being at the microphone after drummer Eric Singer missed a beat, causing the whole song to be a little off. Ex-Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley took a bit of a swing at his former bandmates during a solo show in New York over the weekend right before launching into "Detroit Rock City."
"This song's a great song written by Mr. Paul Stanley," said Frehley. "By the way, we don't use tapes. Anyway, this one's about a city in the Midwest on Lake Michigan. It's called 'Detroit Rock City'." Frehley and the band then launched into "Detroit Rock City" and kept true to their word about not using tapes. So good on 'em.
