After bassist Evan Brewer and drummer Alex RĂ¼dinger announced they were leaving The Faceless, we questioned the future of the band. Founding guitarist Michael Keene said at the time that fans don't need to worry as they already have new members in place and would be keeping their commitment to the upcoming Protest The Hero Euro-tour.
Oops! Looks like they aren't going to make it after all. A press release from Protest The Hero's label announced that The Safety Fire would be replacing the tech-death masters:
Due to internal band issues, The Faceless have been forced to drop off the upcoming Protest The Hero tour commencing next Friday November 14th in Leipzig, Germany. Replacing The Faceless on the tour will be longtime Protest The Hero friends The Safety Fire. All scheduled dates will be played and The Contortionist will continue to be on all shows.
The term "internal band issues" definitely raises a red flag, but also this is not coming from the band or their label directly, but rather from Protest The Hero's label. Still, it seems like there is trouble for The Faceless in procuring a new lineup.
Hopefully Keene and The Faceless get their shit together for 2015.
