Dave Lombardo Joins AMEN

He will be drumming on their next album and touring all summer with the band.

Last January, Dave Lombardo revealed that he was jamming on some new material with Casey Chaos of Amen and his then-bandmate Gary Holt, to be produced by Ross Robinson. I guess with Lombardo's split from Slayer, he fell out of touch with Holt and that project fell apart, but he clearly kept in touch with Casey and Ross because they just announced that Lombardo will be joining Casey's project Amen as the drummer on their next album and tour. Ross Robinson will be producing the album.

Speaking to Metal Hammer, Lombardo said:

"I'm very proud to have been asked to be part of this amazing production with Casey and [producer] Ross [Robinson]. My career in thrash was created from my love of the punk genre.

"It's aggressive, honest and needed. I'm looking forward to performing with Amen before returning to Europe with Philm in September."

Naturally, Casey Chaos is also excited:

"It's great to be working again with Dave, this time in Amen. He's brought so much power, aggression and passion to the music on the new record, in a way only he could only deliver.

"Without question this is the most important album I’ve ever made. I'm looking forward to unleashing it live and destroying ourselves for your pleasure!"
