"Why," you might ask, "is Dave Lombardo being in the studio such a big deal?" Well, it's likely that his studio time isn't being dedicated to Suicidal Tendencies, as the band already has an album recorded. It's probably not Dead Cross, considering that album seems like it's all wrapped up. So maybe, just maybe, Lombardo is recording a new Misfits album?
Lombardo, alongside original vocalist Glenn Danzig, are now a part of the Misfits who reunited for Riot Fest this year. The lineup said they'd love to do a record together at some point as well, and the reunion has been confirmed since at least May. So there's been plenty of time for Misfits to do another one!
