The speculation was fun while it lasted. When photos surfaced of Mastodon in the studio, with one specific photo showing Dave Grohl holding a guitar, we were left wondering if the Foo Fighters frontman was going to appear on Mastodon's new album. Rocksound.tv did some digging and after speaking to a rep for the band they were told that Grohl just stopped by to say hello and would not be appearing on the record. Aww, well, the hoping was fun while it lasted. I'm still incredibly excited for this record!
