What an oddly nice story.

Buckle up kids, because Creeping Death has a pretty insane story about the theft and return of their trailer. The band played their first show of their tour with Carcass and Immolation on May 14 at the Launchpad in Albuquerque, NM. Unfortunately their trailer was stolen out of the hotel parking lot, and the cops wouldn't go recover it despite there being Airtags showing the trailer's location.

Drummer Lincoln Mullins explains: "Creeping Death's trailer got stolen out of a hotel parking lot this morning. Yes it was locked up to the van, yes we have AirTags," he said in a Twitter thread. "Showed ABQ Police the exact location of 3 AirTags and they said it's not enough to go inside the building and see…because the business was closed

"They won't even come to the hotel to see the surveillance footage of our shit being taken. Happy day 2 of tour."

Mullins then gives an update saying the cops did eventually come to see the footage of the theft four hours after the report, though he mentions "no plates on the car visible."

Then roughly 12 hours later, Mullins returns with the following update saying the trailer was recovered by the Albuquerque Sheriff's department.. and one sheriff bought a shirt.

"THANKS TO AIRTAGS AND ONE VERY NICE ABQ SHERIFF (SURPRISINGLY) EVERYTHING WAS FOUND EXCEPT FOR MY BORROWED BASS DRUM CASE (SORRY BRAD) AND OUR UHAUL TRAILER. THE NICE SHERIFF BOUGHT A LONGSLEEVE OFF OF US UPON US LEAVING THE CRIME SCENE"

So hooray, for the most part! Though it does seem a little insane that Creeping Death called the cops saying "hey, our shit got stolen and we know where it is" and the cops said "nah" despite there being concrete evidence of the theft and where the stolen property was after the theft.
