Earlier this week the unfortunate news broke that Corrosion of Conformity drummer Reed Mullin had an alcohol-related seizure before a show in Edmonton, which stemmed from Mullin's excessive drinking. The band stated that this has happened before and sidelined Mullin indefinitely while Clutch's and Lamb of God's drummers filled in for the Edmonton and Calvary dates.
Now the situation has gotten a little more interesting, because Mullin showed up apparently sober in Winnipeg and played well. Which is great news for the band and for Mullin, but addiction isn't a battle that's won in a day.
The only stipulation currently is that Mullin might not be permanently back in the loop with the band. According to a comment made by the band before this post, Corrosion of Conformity has already tapped Clutch's Jean Paul Gaster to play at least one show with them on July 10. So yes, it's awesome that Mullin immediately came back and clearly wants to b with the group, but will Corrosion of Conformity be taking him on right away? Or will it take some time?
