I may have found the most absurd sentence in the history of rock music on Blabbermouth:
Famed guitarist Steve Vai, R&B singer Mary J. Blige, BLINK-182 drummer Travis Barker, "American Idol" judge and bassist Randy Jackson and Michael Jackson's guitarist Orianthi got together this week to record a new version of the LED ZEPPELIN classic "Stairway to Heaven".
What?! Why?! Aren't there enough covers of Stairway to Heaven? Do we really need one with Mary J. Blige singing on it? I guess we're going to get it either way. Also, RANDY FUCKING JACKSON? You couldn't find any other bassist? This whole thing almost seems like a goof. One hopes there will at least be enough shredding between Vai and Orianthi to cover up for the R&B vocals. I can't wait to hear this train wreck!
