Here's hoping everything turns out just fine for Leach.

Here's hoping everything turns out just fine for Leach.

Killswitch Engage is in the midst of recording a new album as well as doing some live shows, but unfortunately things have hit a snag. The band just found out that vocalist Jesse Leach must undergo vocal cord surgery, and while he's expect to make a full recovery, they've had to cancel their live dates from April 26 to May 5.

The band's statement says they'll announce replacement dates for the cancelled shows soon, and the May 1 date will just be Hatebreed and The Word Alive at a new venue in Lousiville, Kentucky. They also tell fans to "hold on to their tickets," so I'd imagine all the tickets previously purchased will still be valid for the new shows.

"Earlier today we found out Jesse needs to have surgery to repair an issue with his vocal cords. He is expected to make a full recovery and be fine for any future touring, but to avoid any future risk, we, unfortunately, have to pull off these dates now. Our intention is to postpone the headline shows in Sayreville, Louisville, Cleveland and Poughkeepsie and get back to our fans as soon as possible. New dates for those cities will be announced soon, so please hold onto your tickets. In the meantime, our friends in Hatebreed and The Word Alive still plan on coming to Louisville, Kentucky on May 1 for a separate show at Trixie's. Show them your support."

We wish Jesse all the best, and here are the cancelled dates. Leach was also announced recently as the host of a mental health awareness event featuring Chef Brian Tsao and Chef Chris Santos on May 9. No word on if Leach will still be in recovery for the event at this time.

Killswitch Engage did not specify what exactly happened to Jesse Leach.
