GWAR's Dave Brockie Died of an Accidental Heroin Overdose

The toxicology report is in and it's a bummer.

This is some sad news to report. The toxicology report has come back in the death of legendary GWAR frontman Dave Brockie, who of course played Oderus Urungus.

His death was ruled an accidental heroin overdose. According to WTVR, police found "evidence of heroin use" (as we previously reported) but waited until the toxicology reports came in to report on the cause of death. Friends were worried about his partying prior to his death and were worried when he died that his partying ways finally caught up with him.

As his alter-ego, Oderus Urungus, Brockie always joked about drug use. It's incredibly devastating to see that heroin use is what did a massive talent like Brockie in.

GWAR plan to have a viking funeral for Oderus Urungus in a free public ceremony the night before the GWARBQ.
