GHOST Drops Off Festival Due to "Production Delays"

Have Ghost not figured out their new Papa emeritus situation?

Have Ghost not figured out their new Papa emeritus situation?

Ghost's first performance since teasing the new Papa Emeritus has been cancelled.

The band was set to be one of the headliners of the Las Rageous festival in Las Vegas, but had to cancel. The band released a statement blaming "production delays." A Day To Remember will replace them. Here's the full statement:

“Due to unforeseen production delays, Ghost regretfully will not be able to appear at the Las Rageous festival next month in Las Vegas, NV. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing our friends in Las Vegas very soon.”

During Ghost's last live show in September 2017, we saw Emeritus III taken off the stage by Nameless Ghouls and the emergence of Papa Emeritus Zero, who warned "the middle ages have begun." Once the band released their live album, Ceremony and Devotion, we started seeing the emergence of Papa Emeritus IV, who was noted to have a red sleeve.

Even though the veil has been pulled back on Ghost with mastermind Tobias Forge offering an unmasked interview last year on Swedish radio after his identity was revealed through a lawsuit from former members, the band is still making sure there is a story surrounding their releases. And, they want to make sure they get it right before rushing on stage.

Papa will likely make his debut on May 5th in Riverside, CA, at the kick off of the band's next tour. Get the full routing here.

Papa will either debut there, or the band will release a new single a few weeks before then, showcasing the new Papa. As soon as the new Papa is revealed, we'll report on it.
