Brent Hinds (Mastodon), Matt Pike (High On Fire, Sleep), and Alyssa Maucere-Pike (Lord Dying) have a new band that we've known about for a while now. What we don't know is when we're finally going to hear music from the group, though according to Hinds it definitely exists.
In an interview with The Jasta Show, Hinds said the group will use some material that he wrote for Mastodon's new album Hushed And Grim that he purposefully made sure didn't make the cut.
“I wrote way more songs that I chose not to put on the [new Mastodon] album because me and Matt Pike are starting a band together and we’re gonna work an album up and I’m gonna use a lot of that stuff for that. I kinda held back on purpose.”
Hinds also revealed the group will film a music video before the end of the year, meaning we should probably hear something in 2022 (and that new music is probably to some extent done). Or at least we hope so, right?
