When Entombed hit some legal trouble, there became Entombed and Entombed A.D. When Queensryche sailed into some rough law water, there before two Queensryches for a little while. So now former Venom members Jeff “Mantas” Dunn and Anthony “Abaddon” Bray have decided to start up a new band titled Venom Inc., because fuck coming up with a new name.
Look. I get that if you're in a famous band for a while you want to keep your fanbase. I'm also very aware of the fact that mantas and Abaddon were in the group long enough to be considered fairly staple members of the group. Hell, the group's performance recently in Germany with former Venom drummer Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan was good (below)! But that's not the point.
The point is to carve your own identity. Black Sabbath had the Heaven and Hell offshoot and it did wonderfully. When Dream Theater members went off and essentially tried out keyboardist Jordan Rudess, they didn't call it Dream Theater Anno Domini– they called it Liquid Tension Experiment.
You get the point. Venom Inc., just change your name and make sweet music?
