Oh, hello classic technical death metal!
Atheist has announced they are currently working hard on a fifth record, their first since 2010's comeback classic Jupiter. The band is once again joined by bassist Tony Choy, who dropped out in 2010 and rejoined in 2012, for this record and will be working with producer Jason Suecof (Job for a Cowboy) on the effort. Frontman for the group Kelly Shaefer is pretty excited about it.
“We will be working with Jason Suecof on this record, he has such a vast wealth of knowledge of our history as well as our sound, and we were lucky to be able to have him mix Jupiter, but this time he will be involved in the recording as well as the mix so that will be beastly!!”
A comeback worked quite well for Carcass, and with At The Gates dropping a new album this fall we might as well get some Atheist in there as well! The group are expected to drop the album early 2015.
