ANTHRAX To Donate 100% Of Proceeds Of A Special Show To A Cancer Charity

Anthrax doing the right thing!

On September 16, Anthrax will be playing Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, which vocalist Joey Belladonna says "has to be the most intimate show we've played since the early 80s." While that's awesome all by itself, the show will be donating 100% of its proceeds to the charity Gilda's Club NYC! According to the press release, the charity was founded in 1995 in memory of Gilda Radner, the talented comedienne and original cast member of "Saturday Night Live" who passed away in 1989 from cancer. GCNYC's mission is to support, educate and empower cancer patients and their families.

The show will be hosted by Jose Mangin from Sirius XM Radio, tickets will be $50 once they're on pre-sale this Friday, and a special pink version of the vinyl for the band's most recent album For All Kings will be available at the show as well. Those vinyl sales will also go to the charity in some capacity, though the release doesn't specify how much.

Regardless, all of this is for a good cause, and if you've ever had a loved one go through a battle with cancer, you know how difficult things can get. On a personal note, if you or someone you know is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, consider enrolling in clinical trials as well! Financial backing is absolutely needed in the field, and clinical trials provide extremely important data to oncologists as well.
