We were shocked to learn of the untimely death of founding Eyehategod drummer Joey LaCaze a few months ago. Eyehategod played their first show back this weekend at the Housecore Horror Festival and had Dale Crover of Melvins fill in on drums and the bootleg footage looked killer.
But the band has to move on, and today have announced that their new permanant drummer is Aaron Hill, who played in local New Orleans bands Missing Monuments and Mountain of Wizard.
I am sure that Hill is up to the task and the band took filling the position very seriously. I saw a tweet from a friend at the Housecore fest this weekend where he paraphased frontman Mike Williams saying "of course we're going to continue, it's all we know."
The band have lined up a few dates for November and I'm going to do everything in my power to catch them at the New York show.
