Torn Between Two Worlds is the new project featuring Sarah Jezebel Deva (ex-Cradle of Filth, Hecate Enthroned, The Kovenant, Mortiis, Angtoria) and Chris Rehn (Takida, Angtoria). The duo is now streaming their massive new single "Transparent," which Deva said has been in the works for a little while now.
"Chris presented this song to me last year and as usual, I loved it, but I struggled with it at first. I think it's because it's the first song I've had to arrange and write lyrics for from scratch in over 8 years. 'The Beauty Of Deception' and 'All Eyes On Me,' our first 2 singles had been either finished, had demo vocals, lyrics written, or all 3 a few years back, so I wasn't starting from the beginning.
"'Transparent' was 100% from the beginning for me and it didn't all come naturally at first, so after I recorded and submitted vocals, it didn't sit well with Chris and I. There were parts we loved, but parts that didn't feel right, so we took some months out. Chris came back to me a few months later and finally we were on the same page. We absolutely love the track and yet again, it gave me a chance to explore a situation I had been in for a long time with someone materialistic, destructive, and who took everything for granted. Someone who used and abused and took all the credit. I always find it easier to write about negative situations. Maybe people can relate and find something in those lyrics to help them heal."
