Throwing Bricks will release their new record The Burden on October 28 via Tartarus Records and is now streaming the seething new single "Clearly Awake." The Burden was produced by Tim de Gieter (Amenra, Doodseskader) and is available for pre-order here.
"Where most of our earlier work is rooted in sludge and post-metal, 'Clearly Awake' fully embraces the post-hardcore/screamo influences. It's an energetic and frantic piece of music, probably one of our shortest songs ever. The lyrics for this track are actually quite literal. They cover losing someone close to you and making peace with that situation.
"The dynamic vocals of both our singer Niels and guitarist Marius create a push-pull effect. Experimenting with vocals is something you'll hear more of on 'The Burden'. This song has been a staple in our liveset already and perfectly encapsulates the feeling we want to convey while on a stage."
