Desert Records is back with the second installment of their Legends of The Desert series, and of course it's going to be fantastic. Legends of the Desert: Volume 2 features new music from both The Penitent Man and Cortége, the former of which we're premiering a new song from right now!
"Rest My Weary Head" was tracked during the pandemic and features one hell of a keyboard solo from Rival Sons keyboardist Todd Ögren. The song was then mixed by Gregory Downs at Pale Horse Sound in Sugar House, UT and mastered by Mark Fuller.
"This may seem like a simple tune on the first listen but the nuances that continue to build up till the end really takes you for a ride," said Ögren. "I was stoked that I had free reign to do a solo that shreds here and there but serves the song as a whole. Killer song."
Legends of the Desert: Volume 2 is the second of seven installments, and will be released on June 4. Pre-orders are available here and I suggest you grab a physical copy, mainly so you can look at that awesome Joshua Mathus artwork up close.
