PANTERA's Rex Brown Offers Bluesy New Song "Crossing Lines" Off His Upcoming Solo Album

Rex Brown is going solo. The former Pantera and Kill Devil Hill bassist has announced a new solo record, Smoke On This, which will be released by eOne on July 28.

Rex sang on the album, and played bass and guitar, as well as getting some help from Nashville-based guitarist and songwriter Lance Harville and drummer Christopher Williams. Caleb Sherman, who has mostly worked on country records, produced. The music is blues-laded rock and roll and the lead single "Crossing Lines" leads off with an AC/DC-like riff, before taking off in its own direction:
