Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach has jumped into the world of electronica with new track "Luminescent Dreams," featuring his multi-talented girlfriend Philia Porphyra.
While certainly not the first metal musician to dabble in EDM, Leach is probably the first to release a music video with his girlfriend dancing on a stripper pole. The song–which is probably NSFW as a video–is sensual, hypnotic, and just about every other adjective related to rave culture.
"[Jesse] and I have been talking about making dubstep/EDM/industrial music since we first met," Porphyra wrote on Instagram. "It feels so good to finally say that we've created our first song together and paired it up with this dope dance video by [Warren Archer] filmed at [Elements Music & Arts Festival]."
Leach reposted the video with his own caption, saying, "My first public attempt at electronic music. The song is in demo form but my beautiful and talented girlfriend is not! We did this song together called 'Luminescent Dreams.' She is a multitalented performer and artist as well as a brilliant poet and writer."
No word if we'll get any more serenades out of these two this year, but Leach did mention that he hopes the long-awaited Times of Grace follow-up will hit shelves in Fall 2020. The side project, featuring Killswitch guitarist and The Price Is Right badass Adam Dutkiewicz, has not released any material since its debut in 2011.
