Foo Fighters are set to release their new album, Concrete and Gold next Friday, September 15th. Today, they released a new single, a power rock ballad called "The Line," and it's a fine song:

Also, the identity of the mega pop star doing backing vocals was finally revealed to be Justin Timberlake. Frontman Dave Grohl reveals to Rolling Stone:
“We’d drink whiskey in the parking lot,” Grohl said. “He was really, really cool. Then the night before his last day, he says, ‘Can I sing on your record? I don’t want to push it, but – I just want to be able to tell my friends.’ ” So the band had him add some “la la la’s” to one track. “He nailed it,” Grohl says. “I’m telling you – the guy’s going somewhere.”
Timberlake is far from the most famous person on the album, as that honor goes to Sir Paul McCartney, who guest drums on a track.
Grohl decided to call in a favor. He texted McCartney: "Do you want to play drums on one of our new songs?" McCartney's response? "You're crazy, man!"
But to the band's delight, he agreed. "Even if it had been banjo, I think I probably would have showed up," McCartney says. The last time he got a call like that from Grohl was to collaborate on the soundtrack to Grohl's 2013 documentary, Sound City. "I was jamming with these two guys I'd never met," McCartney says. "And then I heard them talking in the studio, and it was like, 'Oh, shit! You guys are fucking Nirvana!' "
