Fans of 90s rockers Filter will be happy to hear Richard Patrick and Co. are back with a bang. They've signed a deal with Golden Robot records and released their new single, "For The Beaten." It's a chunky, rifftastic banger that welcomes the alternative metal rockers back to the scene after an absence of two years. You can check the video out below.
Filter will drop a new LP in 2023, with a date and title to be announced shortly. About choosing "For the Beaten" as the first single, Patrick said “We chose ‘For the Beaten’ as the first single because it’s dynamic, dark, and heavy, just like the moment we are in. I look forward to working with Golden Robot and can’t wait for everyone to hear the full album.” Filter has been working studiously on new material since the start of the pandemic.
In addition to Patrick, the new Filter track features Johnny Radtke on guitar, Elias Mallin on drums and Filter's newest member (and co-writer of the track) Zack Munowitz, also on guitar. Brian Virtue (Jane's Addiction, Deftones) co-produced the song, and was mastered by studio veteran Howie Weinberg.
