Fredlös is the brand new Stockholm, Sweden-based dark metal outfit which features Entombed guitarist Alex Hellid. The band will release their self-titled debut LP on February 10, 2023, via Threeman Recordings, Fredlös Produktion, and the Sound Pollution distribution groups. To celebrate the forthcoming debut, the band has also released two excellent songs from the album—"Farsot" and "Våt Varm Jord"—which you can check out now in the videos just below.

“Våt Varm Jord” (“Warm Wet Soil”) has been described as “seven minutes and 22 seconds of swirling, dynamic, beautiful heavy music introducing the first chapter of Fredlös, where you are implored to reject the light and embrace the wet warm soil." As for the LP itself, the modern folk-metal trend continues with nine, dark and swirling tales that reflect castlery tradition as much as they defy categorical pigeonholing.

After forming from the remains of several previous musical endeavors, the members of Fredlös were bonded together by their love of the most anthemic dark metal going around without mossy pretension or tiring cliches. First formed in 2021, Fredlös quickly found fluidity with their blended style of heavy guitars, traditional folk instruments, medieval melodia, plus a “need to relate history true to the facts. The result is brooding yet effortless… where the listener can survive and thrive in the dark."

Fredlös is comprised of guitarists Hellid, Tomas Karlson, and Fredrik Danielsson; bassist Robert Lindgren, vocalist Liv Hope, and keyboardist Victor Dahlin.
