Contrition is now streaming their new single "Added Subtraction", whose entire four minutes may permanently darken your week and blacken your outlook on life. It might also cause you to full-body headbang yourself into your floor, and we're not responsible for that either. That's on you.

"This song is an anthem for constant failure—the despair that is added to life when all problems take the form of a snowball effect. Just a piling-on of problems," said vocalist Jerome Marshall about the track.

Contrition features Marshall (Cobalt, Yakuza), drummer Garry Naples (Novembers Doom, Without Waves), guitarist and keyboardist Jeff Wilson (Chrome Waves, Deeper Graves, ex-Wolvhammer), and bassist Jon Woodring (Bones, ex-Usurper).

Contrition will release Broken Mortal Coil on October 29. Broken Mortal Coil was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Wilson at Disorder Recordings, given artwork by Ethan McCarthy (Primitive Man), and designed by Wilson. Broken Mortal Coil also features additional vocals on "For Misery" by Trevor Strnad (The Black Dahlia Murder), additional guitars on "Diluted" by Leon del Muerte (Impaled, ex-Exhumed), additional synth and vocals on "Desolation Star" by David Brenner (Gridfailure), and additional guitars on "Nihilistic Right" by Corey Parks (Graveripper).

Pre-orders are available here.
