Cancer released To The Gory End and Death Shall Rise in 1990 and 1991 with John Walker on guitar and vocals, Carl Stokes on drums, and Ian Buchanan on bass. The trio added Barry Savage on guitar for two more albums in 1993 and 1995 and then broke up. Cancer did an EP and full-length in 2004 and 2005 with a different lineup, but now they're back as that original trio and ready to release their new album Shadow Gripped on November 2.
The album was recorded at Foel Studios with Simon Efemy (Paradise Lost, Napalm Death, Amorphis) and you can check out the gritty and dark new song "Garrote" below. Though with a name like Cancer, I guess your music has to be pretty bleak and gritty sounding.
