The Boston-based metal band, Aversed, are planning a new release for this autumn, but they're dropping a brand new tune today titled “War Aorta”. The song tackles state violence, police brutality, and revolutionary anger at time when it is most relevant, and for a good cause!

Drummer and lyricist Jeff Saltzman comments:
“We wrote this song to explore the barrage of death and violence constantly thrown at us every day, from Minneapolis to Palestine. Now more than ever it is crucial to embody our beliefs in our music.”
Vocalist Haydee Irizarry adds:
“We felt the best way to capture the anger underlying ‘War Aorta’ was to let the words speak for themselves. Jeff really took the reins on this one. His lyrical vision, with my vocal prowess, proved to be a great match!”
In line with their message, the band is donating all single and merch proceeds to “FAMILIES AS JUSTICE FOR HEALING”: a black woman led, non-profit organization in Boston whose work tackles the root causes of racial disparities such as poverty, drug policy, and trauma, while seeking to defund the police and prison system. You can find more info on the organization or donate directly here.
