Grind/noise/doom/aficionados of extreme aural abuse have designed a knife and are ready to release it; in conjunction with the upcoming One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache (yep, it’s a Hole reference. Get that out of your system now. Go listen to “Doll Parts” again). And why not? If there’s one thing I’ve learned from listening to Full of Hell and The Body, it’s that pain, violence and discomfort are constant. A knife is, if nothing else, suitably symbolic.
The piece looks pretty good with the logos on it and its dominate black finish. Personally speaking, I’m a big fan of knives. So I couldn’t help but wonder what it’d be like if the bands teamed up with someone like Bladerunners Systems or Benchmade to make something mangled and stunning. Specifically, a balisong. Yeah both produce highly expensive products, but both are fucking phenomenal.
As an amateur/novice flipper, flipping something acid washed, blackened and sharpened to a tee while listening to the bands’ new album would be a fitting experience.
The knife is available for preorder soon, as is the collaborative LP.
