Stern Pinball has officially launched Metallica Remastered, an upgraded version of their beloved 2013 release. This revamp brings the fan-favorite pinball machine into the modern age with various technological improvements, including enhanced gameplay, better electronics, and a more immersive presentation.
Metallica Remastered now features a full-color LCD display with new animations and live concert footage, while Stern's Spike 2 electronics system powers the experience. The updated machine includes 22 tracks — eight more than the original — and introduces new gameplay rules. Additionally, players can expect improvements in the cabinet, with the inclusion of an Expression Lighting system and new art packages by Metallica's long-time artist, Rhys Cooper.
While maintaining the core elements that made Metallica Pinball a hit, this remastered version boasts three new sculptures and dynamic UV lighting effects. Fans will also appreciate the new game modes based on Metallica's latest albums, 72 Seasons and Hardwired… To Self-Destruct, along with the introduction of the Blackened Wizard Mode.
In addition to the gameplay enhancements, the Metallica Remastered pinball machine offers a suite of new presentation features, including live concert footage and over 1,000 voice callouts by the band. With only 500 units of the Limited Edition model available, the LE version comes with exclusive upgrades, such as a mirrored backglass, custom artwork, and an integrated lighting system that synchronizes with the music.
Through Stern's Insider Connected platform, players can track their progress, compete with others worldwide, and unlock special achievements. Seth Davis, Stern Pinball's president and CEO, summed up the excitement: "Metallica is one of the quintessential pinball games that has been treasured and respected for over a decade now. We're incredibly proud of the entire Stern team in collaboration with Metallica for their thoughtful yet modern recreation of this beloved game."
Available in Premium and Limited Edition models, Metallica Remastered is now on sale through Stern Pinball's network of distributors.
