Funko! Pop Drops New ALICE IN CHAINS Dirt Figurine

In celebration of the album turning 30 this year.

AIC Funko

Alice in Chains will be teaming up with Funko for an upcoming release for the toy conglomerate’s Pop! Albums series. In the past, Funko has made figurines in the likeness of Linkin Park, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and many more. This new AIC release will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the grunge legend's seminal LP, Dirt. A post to Funko's Instagram page includes a photo of the set, which can be pre-ordered here. The figurine set will be available November 30, just in time for Christmas for your favorite metalhead!

According to the product details, fans are invited to "Celebrate 30 years of Alice in Chains’ second studio album Dirt with this Deluxe Pop! Album! Never forget the iconic album or the music of Alice in Chains by collecting this Deluxe Pop! Album Dirt, featuring each of the band members as Pop! figures and the album cover art. Packaged together in a protective hardcase, this Deluxe Pop! Album can be hung on a wall or placed on a shelf next to your music collection. Pop! Layne Staley, Pop! Jerry Cantrell, Pop! Sean Kinney, and Pop! Mike Starr are ready to rock in their legendary stage outfits."

Back in April, Alice in Chains vocalist/guitarist William DuVall told Overdrive that a new AIC record would probably be in the works at some point this year for a 2023 release.

"Right now we're just coming out of the lockdowns, and we've all been busy doing our own thing," DuVall said. "Jerry is out on tour at the moment for his solo album, and I'm doing my thing. We have plans for some live shows in September/October, and I'm sure that will blow off the cobwebs and we'll start looking at some new ideas for the next Alice In Chains album.

"We had a lot of time imposed on us and I think we're going through this period of catching up on things that we had planned for 2020 [and] 2021, and we're all finally getting to do that now. So, it's kind of like a stopgap and we're just dealing with all of these stockpiled projects that we had planned a few years back. So once we get back up to speed with things and we get these dates underway in late summer, I'm sure it will spark a whole bunch of ideas for the next Alice In Chains studio album."

Alice in Chains will kick-off a massive summer tour in August with Breaking Benjamin and Bush, with additional support from The L.I.F.E. Project, Thunderpussy and Plush. You can catch all confirmed dates below.
